Is there any Danger in Sharing your IMEI Number off your Phone?
I'm selling my old iPhone as it's water damaged and just selling it for parts. Someone has requested to buy it and asked for the IMEI number. Just wondering if there's any danger in sharing this only through private message and also wondering why he would want it if the phone is broken.

No. They likely just want to check to make sure it is clean. Theoretically they could try to clone it but there's no reason to do such thing.
- What is the IMEI number used for on an iPhone and/or any phone? Just found it in my settings and I don't know what it's for. Could someone please tell me most of the ways it could be used?
- What does sharing location from this iphone on a blocked number mean? I clicked on a number i blocked a while back and saw on the location service something along the line of "sharing location from this iphone"… If anyone also has the same message would you be able to share? Or explain to me? Does this mean the blocked number was able to see my location through the last year?
- How can I take my phone off of Find My iPhone without completely removing it from family sharing? I'm going to college soon and I'd really hate for my mom to be worried about me and seeing me in bars n stuff like that.
- Is there anyway to unblock an IMEI number? Some more information: I bought the phone off of craigslist, it is an iPhone 5S, my network is T-Mobile, and it says it's stolen when I check the IMEI number on T-Mobile's website. It worked for a few months until recently
