Is there anyway to block yourself from texting a number on the iPhone 5?

I do NOT want to text my ex boyfriend, but it gets very tempting when it's late at night or I'm (very) drunk. Is there anyway to block myself from texting him? I still want to be able to receive texts from him.

Delete his number maybe. Its worked for me before.

Not really. Now when IOS7 comes out there will be a feature that allows you to block contacts straight to your voicemail but not the other way around.

I'm with Orange, I have called them and they said they are unable to block personal mobile numbers and could only suggest I change my number. I would rather not change my number.
