Advances in technology, are they making people less social? In order to answer this question for myself, I had to make a comparison to the good ol' days when I was growing up technologically, to these days now that technology is so rampant. Back then, it seems to me that there was a lot more real human interaction. When you wanted to speak with someone, it was either face to face; the home phone line; sending an email, or perhaps sending a letter. Now considering new age technology, for instance, I think that the internet and computers help with social interactions do to chat rooms, message boards, and online gaming. Also considering we now have things like iphones that are like portable computers, with different apps and social networks that are not only very convenient, but also allow people to communicate and socialize with each other quicker, more frequently, and also with people all across the world. All in all, I'm happy with the new age technology. Just as long as we don't get too reliant on them, or too lazy.

Now, in view of all this modern technology, I think that we're just a mouse click away from the internet and social interactions in chat rooms, message boards, and online gaming. Also, now that many of us carry cell phones which are the equivalent of a portable computer in our pockets, we have access to different apps and social networks that are not only very convenient, but also allow people to communicate and socialize with each other quicker, more frequently, and around the world. All in all, I'm happy with this new technology. Just as long as we don't become too reliant on it, or too lazy.

  • Larceny by conversion sentence for someone with no record at all? I had a customer come in and drop their broken iPhone 5 phone off to repair the broken screen. They signed a contract stating after 30 days the phone is mine to do what I want with it. I sold the phone on eBay after almost 2 months without any contact from the guy. I'm being charged with Larceny By Conversion $200 more but less than $1000. What is the normal sentence for something like this for someone with no record at all and what can I do? I'm in Sanilac County, Michigan.

  • Is there ever an instance when the first letter of a sentence IS NOT capitalized? In every instance of writing, it seems to be a known fact that the first letter of a sentence is always capitalized, including sentences that start with eBay or iPhone. Is there ever an instance that the first letter of a sentence is left lowercase, like for a quote or something?
