Isn't the virgin mobile iPhone 4s really on the 4g network?
When apple showed it off they said it is just as fast as 4g but they don't want to call it that.
Technically speaking, up until late 2010, anything that was '4G' today was called 3G.
so in marketing, no. 4G is a separately marketed system.
in reality, though, 4G networks are just a (very slightly) newer version of the same 3G networks.
Actually the iphone 4 and 4s is only 3G data internet. The iphone 5 is the only iphone that works on 4G data internet. However Virgin Mobile does not have the iphone 5.
The iPhone 4S is not 4G enabled first of all so the person at apple who showed it off, clearly doesn't know the difference between a 4s and 5. Even to use the expression "as fast as", simply deserves a "as fast as slap" for talking complete mince.
Virgin has not got 4G yet, you need to join EE. To get coverage, although they run off the same network. The government has no issued virgin directly with a 4G licence yet, therefore virgin can't offer the service. Only EE can advertise and sell the coverage as 4G enabled.
Stick with a 3G plan, EE are a con. Yeh 4G is faster but is it really worth such a hike in the tariff?
Today- EE- iPhone 5 16GB - 24 months - UNLIMTED TEXTS AND MINUTES (500mb data) - £31pm and £119 for the handset…
Go to O2- iPhone 5 16GB- 24 months - UNLIMITED TEXTS AND MINUTES (1GB DATA)- £31pm and £49 for the handset.
On EE HALF AS MUCH DATA… YOUR PAYING FOR 4G. CON! MONOPOLY!
