Its better to live a simple life?

Imagine a life/place like this

-People that live in a life/environment with very little technology use, so everyone is much more interactive when with each other, unlike in loads of cities in the world where almost everyone has an iphone and is using it sometimes 2-4 hours a day for example. And they are really focused/concerned on facebook and uploading images and making posts, which doesn't mean anything at the end.

-Their job pays just enough to cover the bills, so they do not have too much money, as money is not the most important thing, as after all when we're old age, everyone will realize that the life most people spent trying to make as much money as possible was not important, and that they missed out on focusing on other factors such as how to help others and improve ourselves and love people.

-They are living in a hot country with the sea next to them, i think in my opinion if the climate is hot generally then people are so much more happy.

-And the people are really close to each other and everyone is always outside and making fun - no one is stuck in doors

I think that this is the kind of life i wish to have. What do you think about this?

Once people did live that way, it was no different then living today.
A warm country is better to live in for health and happiness.

I think that you should try to be happy with the life you have, the grass is not really greener on the other side

I would like to live simple. But I guess we have a lot to be grateful for.

You paint the Margaret Mitchell version of life in the tropics.
The actual life, even before Whitey invaded, was very different. The commoners had given power to the elite, and were trapped in systems of compulsions, and taboos. They had warfare just like we have, with clubs, instead of with artillery, and drones.

There was human sacrifice at their population density levels, and cannibalism was quite common.

It is not the environment that determines happiness, and a proper human life. It is the wisdom with which the opportunity is used that does that.
