ITunes & iPhones- How does this work?

I'm new to iTunes & I just got an iPhone, there are 2 iPhones in this house & only 1 computer. I have some cd's that I'm gonna download to iTunes & might purchase a few songs. Can I use the same iTunes account for both iPhones, or do I have to make separate iTunes accounts? Is the answer the same for downloaded cd's & purchased songs from iTunes? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You can use the same account for both phones. If you go into your iTunes library on your computer and then plug in an iPhone, it should show up in the iTunes side bar and if you click on it, it will give you options of whether you want to sync to the iTunes library or the cloud. You can choose to sync to the library on your computer and then you will need to do all of your back ups to that computer. But you will be able to do so with both phones and customize what you want from each phone from within iTunes.

Alternatively, if you have iCloud, you can sync both phones to the cloud and keep separate preferences as well. You would use iTunes to import your CDs and sync those songs to the cloud as well and then you would have access to them on your phone provided you sign into iCloud in the preferences in your phone with the same account that you use on iTunes.

Lets say iphone 1 has 150 songs, and your (iphone 2) has 200. Well the next time iphone 1 plugs in, the extra 50 songs will be added. Now for apps, say iphone 2 has 10 apps, all games. And iphone 1 only has 1 game and a few others. All your games will be downloaded to iphone 1. If you don't want the songs he has, or apps he has, then you make a new account in your name, your CC info (credit card) and ETC. Then you can buy and download anything to your phone, while his stays to his own. As long as he has it logged into his own account!

There are a few options that work with iTunes.
