Added (1). I recently bought an iPhone 6 and luckily enough it only has 8.3 installed. My previous iPhone has 8.4. To restore from backup, is it possible to download the iOS 8.4 software and update or if I attempt this will it force me to upgrade to iOS 9.0 which is unjailbreakable as of now.

You can update to iOS 8.4.1 if you are quick as the signing windows is still open.

Apple hasn't stopped signing 8.4.1 yet so you can still upgrade to 8.4.1.

Plug your device into your computer, load up iTunes and shift click (Windows) Option click (Mac) the restore button and a browser window will come up. Find the IPSW you downloaded and press restore, this will install 8.4.1 and not iOS 9.

  • Possible to do AT&T prepaid plan without GoPhone (want to use my own iPhone 4)? I'm currently on T-Mobile and you know how it is with iPhone… Only 2G and no 3G data. I'm done with my contract and need to use the phone for 5 more months so I don't want to sign up a 2 year contract. I'm going to restore my phone back to factory state and want to sign up for AT&T prepaid plan but is it possible to do it w/o buying the GoPhone?
  • Is it possible to unlock AT&T iPhone? The thing is - I want to buy iPhone 4 and if I buy it on eBay can I unlock it by myself? I'm from Europe, btw, so there's no way AT&T iPhone would work. It's just that price differences between AT&T and factory unlocked are about 200$ so I'm wondering can I do it myself.

  • Is it possible to switch a sim from one phone to a iPhone? I have a Motorola Social that is on a Telus Prepaid Pay n Talk plan. I want to put that phones SIM card into my sisters old iPhone that was previously on a contract from Telus but is now cancelled and has no SIM card in it. If I put my current phones SIM card in the iPhone, will I still get my current plan on the iPhone? Both are on the same phone providers and all that.
