Jailbreaking a deactivated iPhone?
I have an old iPhone 3 and my contract with Verizon has expired. So basically I can't call or text anyone anymore. I recently updated to iOS 6 and have been considering jailbreaking my device. This will be my first time jailbreaking an iDevice and I was wondering if I would still be able to renew my contract after doing so.
Jailbreaking does not affect your ability to activate the iphone, it does affect a warranty and that's it. What could keep you from re-activating with verizon is an old unpaid account tied to your name (If you use it for a new account) or your IMEI number on that phone.
All Verizon does is take your IMEI number and assign an account number and telephone number to get you going. They could care less if your jailbroken.
Iphone 3 don't work on verizon.
