Jailbroken iPhone 4S on iOS 5.1.1 and want iOS 6
I have an iPhone 4s currently running iOS 5.1.1 and it is jailbroken with absinthe. I want to get rid of the jailbreak and get the new firmware iOS 6 but I'm having problems. I've been told to restore my iPhone in DFU mode with iTunes. It downloads a good bit of the update but then stops giving an error message. Is anyone else having this problem and is there a solution? Any help I'd appreciate it.
Added (1). Also, is it possible to get iOS 6 without unjailbreaking? I'd be cool with that also.
Just do a normal update with iTunes & it will update and rid of your jailbreak.
No possible way to update to ios 6, still Jailbroken.
- Will I lose my apps and music if I update to iOS 7 from a jailbroken iOS 6.1.2? I have a jailbroken iOS 6.1.2 (iPhone 4S) and I'm just wondering if I will lose my messages, apps, music and photos etc if I update to iOS 7 from the jailbreak? Thanks. * I know my jailbreak will be gone if i do so. Thanks in advance. Also ; will i lose my whatsapp messages if i update to iOS 7 from my jailbroken iOS 6.1.2 phone?
- Is it too late to get ios 7 on my iPhone 4s? I'm still on ios 6 and don't want to get 8? I didn't really care for the new look of ios 7 and never updated the software on my iPhone 4s, but now that ios 8 is out, I wish I had updated to 7 while I still could. I really feel like my software is old and outdated, so it would be nice to upgrade. Is there any way to upgrade to 7 now? If not, I'll stay at 6 because I hear ios 8 runs terribly on 4s.
- Is an iPhone better 'jailbroken' or not 'jailbroken'? I just got the iPhone 5 and I keep hearing about 'jailbreaking' iPhones to be able to do a lot more things. So my question is: Is jailbreaking an iPhone bad? What kind of cool things can I do if I jailbrake it? How do I jailbrake it, if its a good thing?
- I have more than 5GB of iCloud used, and I pay for the 50GB plan, I don't really want to keep paying it. I don't want to lose my pictures th? I have more than 5GB of iCloud used, and I pay for the 50GB plan, I don't really want to keep paying it. I don't want to lose my pictures that I keep on my shared photo stream though. If I stop paying for iCloud will my shared photo stream pics/vids still always be available (forever)? Why do so, w videos and pictures not load on shared photo stream, does apple delete them? Where'd they go? I like google pictures to store my photos, but it's not HD. I have iPhone 6+
