Just linin' up for an iPhone?

Shee… Er… People lined up for as long as 15 days in New York to be the 'first' to get their paws on a new iPhone.

One guy waited for two weeks for a gold iPhone and was told the store only had them in gray.(REF: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/09/20/iphone-sells-out_n_3961941.html )

My question is:

Are these people participating in a fun way to express their love of technology? Or have their minds finally and inescapably been enslaved by evil Marketing Executives?

*note - it's not even a great phone!

Seems more like a fashion statement. Iphones, expecially whatever the latest model is, is "the thing to have".

So yeah, score one for marketing.

The idiots that are willing to wait in line for 15 days are the ones that are slaves to technology.

May be, They are Waiting for WIRING their Body.

Sounds like mental illness to me.

There's none so stupid as brainwashed idiots in this "must have" world!

I like Gregs turtle very much.
I'd line up for ten minutes at least to have a ride on it…

Completely mad they are

I read the questions headline and thought "That's just not fur's style"

I'm glad after reading the additional info I was correct.

Seriously it might not be a dictator with a funny mustache but brainwashing is still very much prevalent in our world today. People get told that they "need" something that it will "improve" their life and that they just "can't live without it" and they end up believing it.

It doesn't matter if it's the exact same thing with additional minor features for $500 from the previous model that they bought 6 months ago they believe they need the new one. They will queue and camp outside for days and nights and fight over it like the tribal beasts they are.

I don't see that as be =ing healthy or fun I think it's a disease of ones mind.
