Last ios update for iphone 6?
I have an iPhone 6 at the moment. I've been told that when an apple device reaches its very last update, it starts getting very glitchy, which is what happened to my iPod touch 5. Battery life wore down dramatically, certain apps no longer worked, and a bunch of other issues arose. Not updating it to the last ios update set for that device keeps the device fully functional for longer, but i didn't know this before i updated it. I want to avoid that with my iphone 6 (until i can afford an upgrade that is) but i can't find anything that states when the last ios update for the iphone 6 will be. Should I go ahead and update to ios 11, or should i wait until ios 12 comes out to see if it made the cut?
Give me coos coos
I have an iPhone 6 and have upgraded to IOS11. No problems noted so far.
That is a nonsense claim by people who don't know what they are talking about.
The final update is usually minor "bugfixes" and has no negative effects on the phone.
Whatever version an iphone supports, the "last update" will be no earlier than whatever is released before the next major version bump - though Apple sometimes release updates for older series if serious bugs are found.
Usually the one to be wary of is the first update to a new major version - ie. 11.0
That often has some problems and oddities & it's worth waiting for reviews on it before installing it - or waiting for the bugfix (eg. 11.01) or whatever it happens to be.
It may also change some features totally - like with iOS 11, "32 bit" apps are no longer supported and you may find quite a few do not work any more - and if the authors do not release updates they are gone for good.
Go to settings > general > about > applications to see what will not work after installing 11.
If there's anything you need in there, hold off until it has been updated.
Go ahead and update to 11. No problems. However it's always a good idea to wait a bit until they release the first or second "update". ï£
Failure is due to the neglect of fineness, and success begins with the importance of small things
- Update stopped during ios update own iphone now phones broke I connected my iPhone 4 to my computer (iTunes) and started doing the update through iTunes. About five minutes into the update iTunes in my computer stops working, causing the update to of course stop working. Now my phone will not turn on. On the screen it is black with the 'charge symbol' as if it were low on battery and an iTunes symbol. I have tried turning my phone off and on, but of course it didn't respond.
- On the new update iPhone Facebook app what does the last active mean? Okay so I updated the Facebook app for the iPhone 5 and when I look at my Facebook friends it will say last active 1m, 2hr, or active now. I'm just wondering does this mean the last time they are active on Facebook like logging on and just looking at the news feed or is it last active on the messenger messaging people?
- New iOS 6 update, find my iPhone update? I don't like the new find my iPhone update is there a way to change back to the old find my iPhone but keep the new update? It's not showing locations like it used to and won't even how me major boroughs like Croydon. Streets are difficult to see, much smaller picture. General *** compared to the older version.
- Is the iOS 6.1 update on iPhone 3 safe to update? On my first iPhone there were problems, and the update didn't help it wiped out everything and among other things had to get a new iPhone. The iPhone I have now works, so should I risk this update? It's a 3GS.
