Letter i in iphone is internet but why is a ipad called ipad?

Why is it called the ipad if all tablets are capable of joining Wi-Fi by default

Apple just sticks an "i" in front of everything! They even attempted to trademark "i" unsuccessfully at one point. If they thought they had a chance Apple would try to patent the letter "i"!

Can you magne a world where you can't use that letter! Ths s madness, stupd, and hllarous at the same tme!

The "i" has stood for many things, besides Internet, Apple's prefix also stood for individual, instruct, inform and inspire.

Remember that the first "i" device was the ipod. That was not an internet connected device until after several years and about 11 - 12 versions; the "i" is nothing to do with internet.

The I is supposedly I like with Me / Mine; representing a personal gadget or device.

The i in iPhone does not stand for internet. That was the meaning of it in the name iMac. After that & its popularity Apple became synonymous with products named i[Insert Name Here]. So things like iPod, iTunes, iMovie, iPad, etc all just went off of that. Though in recent years Apple is shifting away from that, with things like the Apple TV, Apple Watch, etc.

By your argument by the way, the iPhone is also capable of connecting to Wi-Fi from the get go. All of them.

  • Why was my one ounce letter returned to sender? I sold some iPhone chargers. Individually they weigh less than an ounce. I put them in a white envelope. I used one postage stamp, covering 1 ounce. I got 15 of them sent back to me. The message said these envelopes are not letter rate, but small parcels. Each is $2.07 postage. I sent a lot more of these out.Am I going to get them all back? Am I getting screwed by the post office? Any info would be great.
  • What does the letter i mean in apple devices? Does this letter that is used in iPhone, iPod, iOS… Have any special meaning? ( my opinion is that it may predict the word INTELLIGENCE
  • Letter E on my iPhone is not working The letter E and any other key that corresponds with its location does not work, also the slide to unlock bar is not as responsive as it was before iOS 6.
  • Is there ever an instance when the first letter of a sentence IS NOT capitalized? In every instance of writing, it seems to be a known fact that the first letter of a sentence is always capitalized, including sentences that start with eBay or iPhone. Is there ever an instance that the first letter of a sentence is left lowercase, like for a quote or something?
