Lightning cable not working?

So I bought a charger at the gas station. My iPhone 5 charged normally for about 2 weeks, and then started saying "Charging is not available with this accessory." It takes over 10 minutes for my phone to charge about 1%, now I'm not sure if my phone is broken, or my cable is. Also, when I touch the USB end of the charger that's connected to the little plug part, it gives me the same message "Charging is not available with this accessory." Is my phone broken? Or just simply the cable?

It's the charging cable. Chargers which aren't from Apple normally break within a month. If you're lucky, a little longer. I'd suggest buying your lightning cable from the Apple website it self. They are quite expensive for a charger but it's because they normally don't break for like a year or more.

Keep cool,

Me too, the offical cable that came with my phone is now giving this message, and does not charge MY phone no matter what power source I connect it to. The same cable works fine on another persons Iphone and a 2nd cable I purchased continues to charge my phone.
