Looking at buying an iphone 4s, locked and disabled, can I get it working again?

I know nothing about the iphone, or apple, so any help would be great. The phone is locked and disabled (I'm not sure what that means), but they are selling it for $40 and I know there's a great deal of software hacks available for the iphone. Does anyone know how I can do this? Or should I pass on the phone?

First of all:
> Locked means the iPhone works only on the select operator that sold it. It won't work on any other operator or carrier.
> Disabled means access to the iPhone is disabled. Simply put it, you can't use it.

Now the real answer: IT IS POSSIBLE TO UNLOCK AND UN-DISABLE AN IPHONE.

To enable a disabled iPhone, you just need to restore it using iTunes. Its a simple procedure.
> Install the latest iTunes on your PC or MAC (http://apple.com/itunes),
2. Put the iPhone in restore mode (press and hold the power and home button WHILE THE PHONE IS OFF, when it lights up release the power button but keep holding the home button and then plug the USB cable.)
3. Once in restore mode, iTunes will automatically detect the iPhone. Press restore to restore the iPhone. And you will get a as-good-as -new iPhone.

To unlock, Google on jailbreaks for the iPhone 4S. After you jailbreak, you can unlock it with tools like Redsn0w and etc.

  • Pics appearing again n again in Iphone even after deletion? Some one has clicked my pics from i Phone. I have also deleted it from his camera roll and photo Stream but still he is able to recall that pic again n again. Person is not using i cloud i have. May be using some kind of app i have no idea.   • IPhone is disabled try again in 22 million minutes? When you get too many wrong pass code attempts on an iPhone it says "iPhone is disabled try again in 22 million minutes" if someone wait the 22 million min. (like 40 years) what would happen, what would come next?
