Looking for a good video editing program for mac or windows that is free?

I recorded a song and light show that my friend's band played and that I programed for. I took the video with my iPhone sitting on an elevated box, so it's a still shot of the whole song. I'm looking for a program that I can make the colors a bit richer, make the video a little lighter, and add some kind of filter or effect to the video to make watching the video more interesting before I upload it to social media sites.

If a Mac, iMovie comes preinstalled and works great for low scale productions. If you want special effects, try the free version of Moso on the app store.
On a windows, try the free trials of Sony Vegas or PowerDirector which are a month each.
Also, you can directly edit sound and lighting in the YouTube online editor.
