Looking for bluetooth speaker to play music from iphone that plugs into wall electricity and for beach where there's no electricity?

I"m looking for one that is rechargable and can be used when I"m indoors near a plug to get electricity.

Best I have ever had was called a Hex SL made by 808. These cost from $35 to $75 usd +shipping and are the size of a tall beer can. They are made of metal have good "heft" and feel. I've seen them at Walmart, bought mine on eBay. What you like or need may be different. They come with a charger for wall and last a few hours on battery. First time I heard one was at the 7-11 so I went straight home and bought one. I was surprised how good it sounded when hand carried.

Mono only?
I have a Big Lots! One called the "Hype XCYL Led Bluetooth (v 3.0) Speaker". Was $10.
Has a microphone, so you can answer phone calls hands free. Has a USB charging cord. Plays for 2 hours on a charge. There are track/volume buttons. Has optional 3.5mm audio input from some other, like CD player. Also has a MicroSD slot to play with that and no other device. Range of Bluetooth is about 60 ft.
Size of half a Pepsi can, about 10 oz weight. Sturdy construction. Sounds very good.

I'd highly recommend the JBL "Charge 2 Plus".

If has a very high capacity battery (which you can use as a power bank to top up other things, very good tone and volume, is splashproof and can have more than one device synced to it at the same time.

They are around £80 / $100 or so, if you search ebay etc.
(Don't get the Charge 2 without the plus/+, or the Charge 3 - neither gets as good reviews.)

I own one, I can say as a fact they work extremely well!
They charge from a normal 5V USB power unit/car adapter etc. But for indoor use it only needs charging every few days, the way I use mine. Just leave it on charge overnight occasionally.

  • Turtle Beach XP500 Presets and Bluetooth? I've been trying to use my XP500s as regular headphones with my iPhone via bluetooth and getting them to sound better using the preset feature. However, not matter what I do to the presets, the headset doesn't seem to sound any different. Do the presets not affect the bluetooth/bluetooth without the receiver in range? Would I be better off just buying actual headphones(Sennheiser 419/229s)?
  • Turtle Beach Bluetooth Problems? I recently purchased a pair of XP300 turtle beaches, which work fine on xbox, but I was wondering if there was a way to connect them to PC. I'm currently running Windows 8 and I've attempted to connect my Turtle Beaches to my laptop via bluetooth two or three times now. They can easily connect to my iphone, but for some reason my laptop can't find them or is just not showing it. Any help would be very much appreciated?
  • None of my plugs are working? So I thought something was wrong with my charger for my speakers because it stopped working no matter where I plugged it in, and now my laptop just did the same thing. I thought it could be the extension chord by my iPhone charger is plugged in there and it works fine, and that s also where I had the other 2 chargers plugged in. I tried plugging them into different sockets but they ve just stopped working. Does anybody have an explanation for this?
  • Looking for a music app, to browse and play music? I'm looking for a music app for IPhone, that will allow me to browse through songs and play them, sort of like having spotify free, but on IPhone, anyone can recommend some music apps?
