Looking for speakers for a record player?

I'm looking for a set of speakers for my record player. It's just a basic player with built in speakers, but I was wondering if you could hook up a better set of speakers through the headphone slot?

Like any of them. Would they work? Do you know of any better speakers I could buy? Any help is appreciated.

Connecting speakers using a headphone jack is not going to work because the speakers need an amp to work, well it would with the right speakers but they would not sound good at all, You should take apart the record player and either replace the speakers it has now with a set of car stereo speakers the same size ( sold at any car stereo shop ) or take the wires that connect to the speakers in it and rewire it so they have speaker cables for standard stereo speakers

I'll give some links showing good options since you probably want some nice sound quality and not the tinny sound with too much bass you get from pc speakers or ipod speakers
