Low on storage (iPhone 6s)?
My phone has been low storage for like 7 months. And I keep getting those notifications, I deleted so many apps since than and my storage is still so low. I have Apple Music that takes up 1GB but other than that I don't have much WTF
The apps that come with the phone, you know the ones you can't uninstall, will automatically update, taking up space. And since you can't uninstall them, you can only uninstall the update, it will continue to take up more and more space until there's none left. Now, there are ways you can uninstall some o these apps but it may cause the phone to stop working properly. I think they do this so you HAVE to get a new phone, especially since you can't add memory cards to it, like for androids.
If you go to [ Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage ] you can see how much each app takes up, and how much space you have left. From what I see/hear, photos tend to take up the most space, and since it is an app that can't be deleted, you'll have to go and individually delete all your unwanted pictures.
Or you could just get a new phone with greater storage, and transfer your original phone backup to the new phone.
If you have truly removed everything that is not needed, then get the app Dr. Cleaner. It is free, safe (Trend Micro) and amazingly effective. We have used it for about 5 weeks now, on our iPhone 6 16g phones, and are very pleased.
- Will photos on iPhone disappear if low on storage? A big chunk of photos disappeared off of my iPhone 6s Plus. I took over 200 pictures from a family vacation to Orlando this past May, and while going back through my photos today, trying to make more room on my phone, over 200 of my photos (and also some videos) where gone. I don't know how long it has been like this, I just noticed it now. Does this have somthing to do with my phone being low on storage? Or is it somthing else?
- Why is my 128GB iPhone 6S so low on storage? My two most space-consuming apps or my music and photos, which combined take up exactly 11GB. All my other apps combined use up about 10GB total… So why does my phone say I only have 8GB of space available? About a month ago I checked and it said I had 80GB of available space. Also, its software is completely up-to-date if that may have anything to do with it.
- What to do about my iphone storage saying I'm using up way more photo storage than I actually am? My storage says I have 132 photos that's using up most of my storage; almost 3 GB. I have only 52 photos and 15 videos in my phone. It seems like it may be using storage from pictures I deleted, but apparently they're still using space? ? Has this happened to anyone else. I've taken my phone to an apple store, and I didn't get any answers.
- On the I cloud on the Iphone what does total storage and available storage mean? Basically it says total storage 5gb and availible storage 5 gb. Does that mean there's already 5 gb of files on the Icloud?
