MAC filter blocks all devices-even router
I was configuring the MAC filter on my router. I clicked to enable the filter, and after I put the system password in, All the devices are blocked! Even the router is blocked! I've used MAC filtering before, but this has never happened! I'm using my mom's iPhone Internet connection to write this. Please help! Very urgent!
I have a 2WIRE router running on an AT&T DSL connection. Don't hesitate to ask for more details.
Ask for more details? Haha! You didn't give any!
Go to the website of the ___ brand ___ model router, find the user guide, and find the part where it explains how to perform a HARD reset. Then do that. (No guarantee, but usually this is a tiny dimple (reversed-in button) that you push in for ten seconds using a pen.
Oh, wait… Is "2wire" a brand? OK, found it. Founded 1998; new baby on the block. Then go to 2wire.com and find the info.
Let me add that a MAC filter is not a good idea for a home network. It is most often used in a business to limit some tasks, such as who can print from what printer, etc. A password is better security… Unless you choose your dog's name or your birthday.
- What's the difference between a cheap router and a good router? Just wanted to know the difference between a cheap router and an expensive router, I know that is a very broad question, I'm just a bit confused on how a router works. Does it increase my Internet speed on multiple devices? I get 50Mb per second, Well at least that's what I pay for. I have a PS3 two iPhones and a tablet, as well as a desktop PC that is wireless. Can anyone recommend an excellent router under $150
- What's a FREE iPhone 4S app that blocks calls and texts? I have "Blacklist" but my phone still rings and says "Incoming call from BLOCKED" and it allows the random caller to leave a voicemail. I looked at the phone book entry in my phone and added that number to the Verizon.com block list but that only works for 6 months.
- Router gives PC Internet, but none of the other devices? I have a Belkin n300 Wi-Fi router. My PC has Internet access, but whenever I try to access it on another device (such as my iPhone), my network shows up but will not connect. I'll type in my password, but all it does is buffer. It also won't connect to my Xbox. Is there a way to fix this?
- Is it normal for all photos to sync to Mac, even deleted ones? When I sync my iphone to my Mac, all the photos sync, even the ones i deleted on my phone. These deleted photos are supposed to be gone permanently, they aren't even in recently deleted, I always keep my recently deleted photo album empty. Yet, these deleted photos show up on my Mac. Is this normal?
