Mac says I have 11 GB's of music when I actually have 7?
I'm new to mac. I'm getting used to everything. I looked in my storage & it says that i have 11 gb's of music when i only have 7 on my iPhone. I have a music folder in my documents section filled with all of the music that is on my iPhone & it's around 7 gbs added up. Thoughts?
Do you keep all music files in this location?
/Users/your home folder/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media
If not, it has hidden music. Search for.mp3 and.m4a
When you find music files that are scattered in different places, that explains it. Put them all together.
In all honest truth, this isn't related to Mac OS. This question of "How come I have more reported music that I really do?" is a Windows deal also.
I'm hoping for the next version of Mac OS, Apple will remove that Storage graph entirely. It is just a worry thing. If it is wrong, there's nothing you can do to make it change the amount it shows. If it is correct, well, you just have music all around.
IF you allowed iTunes to "organize" your music collection
it typically creates a "Shared" file in the C:\Users\Public file path.
I put "Organize" in quotes because it seems that whatever the definition of
that word that Apple is using it appears in the dictionaries in the entire word
except in Apple's Corporate offices.
- When you buy music from iTunes for your iPhone, are the songs actually? Stored inside your iPhone FOREVER, or when you purchase the song are you really purchasing a LINK to the iTunes shopping mall and then every time you click your song to listen to it you're actually linking up to the iTunes online mall? Do you people understand my question?
- What my iphone 4s storage says i have isn't the same as how much i actually used? When i go into my storage and usage in settings it says i have used 5.8 gb and if you look at all the apps i have and how much storage they add up to, it should only be about 3 gb.
- HOW DO YOU ACTUALLY PUT MUSIC ON IPHONE 5? So how do you put music on an iphone? I know you can get it from itunes but you have to pay for that. Is there any way to put it on your phone from the pc or get free songs etc
- My iPhone says I'm using more space than I actually am? I have a 16GB iPhone 4S and according to iTunes, it says that I only have 1GB left. I added up the memory usage from all of my apps and I'm only using about 6GB. Most of my usage is coming from 'other' as i have very little music and photos. Is there a way I can fix this or see what 'other' is so i can delete what isn't needed?
