Mac won't restart after Itunes update?
Itunes informs me it needs to update to 10.6.3 to connect iphone but when I select 'update and restart' it just goes to login screen and doesn't seem to install the update even after I manually restart.
You need to go to apple.com and install the update for itunes, somtimes these pop up don't work as they say they do for updates, had the same problem when i try to install it on my windows pc which is compatible for windows pc, since having a mac you get the full features of itunes windows pc is limited to what it can used on itunes
You are either confused or I'm. What is this "it"? You say "Itunes informs me it needs to update to 10.6.3". Do you mean iTunes version 10.6.3 or Mac OS version 10.6.3?
For ANY AND All FREE APPLE UPDATES, go to the Apple logo menu at the top left, and choose "Software Update".It will find all available free updates. Install all of them. If this process runs into any snags, do it in "SAFE BOOT".
If the message is about Mac OS, you can update the base version using Software Update. If you need to buy a newer base version, (EXAMPLE: You have OS 10.5.8, but need OS 10.6.3), buy a DVD. This is what we call an UPGRADE rather than an update. You know, like going from Windows XP to 7. You have to buy 7.
