Master reset my iPhone 4 last night and its still not done?
I erased all my data and settings last night because I'm selling it today. When I reset it, it went to the apple logo and then to the spinner that comes up when it dies. I can't hard reset it because the lock button is stuck.iTunes nor my MacBook will recognize it so I can't try to fix it through iTunes. I tried connecting it to my wall charger as well, nothing. Still spinning 8 hours later… And I've read it's supposed to only take 15 mins at most.
To be honest i have done a reset many times on iphones (I work in the trade) And they only ever take a few minutes at most for me.
I would have suggested a hard reset but has you say this would not be possible with your device.
Maybe you could just let the battery die altogether and see that when you reboot the phone if that makes any kind of difference.
Don't worry about letting the battery die as soon as you plug the charger in the phone will automatically turn back on.
That is unfortunately the only thing i can thing of, The phone may well be stuck in some sort of boot loop but without the home and lock button hard reset i'm pretty much at a loss.

- Will the MAC address of my iPhone reset if I reset my iPhone to its factory settings over iTunes? I have jailbroken my device and used terminal to change my MAC address so that I could connect to school's Wi-Fi. - I have an iPhone 8 and I use an app called sleep cycle that records my sleep. Last night the app was recording my sleep while charging? I woke up around 1 AM and I felt something super hot so I think it was my phone. I look over and either my phone was smoking or the outlet so I immediately unplugged everything. My guess was that since the app is drawing electricity from the phone battery throughout the night and the phone is charging it kinda got screwed up. Does anyone know what might've happened? Another guess is that my pillow probably got caught in the outlet since I have a huge pillow that covers it.
