Mom is worried about ecoatm scamming my I.d?

So I'm planning on selling my iPhone, but ecoatm needs to scan my drivers license to verify that I'm 18 or older. My mom is worried about my identity being stolen. Has anybody ever had their identity stolen from one of these machines?

Those ecoatm works nothing will be stolen its basically like an atm and since your phone doesn't have any record of you and the owner of the phone you are going to have to use the ID it is safe.

I'm pretty sure the main reason it asks for your ID is to prevent you from selling stolen phones. If you do sell a stolen phone, they'll have a copy of your ID so that the police know who to go after.
