Moving photos from iPhone to Mac?

I'm trying to get some pics I edited on my iPhone onto my mac laptop. I plugged the iPhone into the USB port and used Image Capture to transfer all my photos. It looks like all the original photos I took transferred, but the ones that I edited are missing. They're all still visible on my phone, but they do not show up in Image Capture or on my computer. I don't have Wi-Fi or data on my phone, so this is the only way I can think of to try and transfer these photos.

If you have a Mac then you'll have the old iPhoto app and if it's got the latest Mac OS you'll also have the new Photos app (which is the new default app). Plug in your iPhone and if one of those apps doesn't automatically start then fire it up and use it to transfer your photos.

iPhones and Macs save photo edit data separately to the original photos, so when you edit the original file remains unchanged. It's very likely that the third party app, Image Capture, is only saving the original image files and not the editing data, or that it is saving the editing data but unable to read it and apply it to the photos.
