TBH, it depends on the device that you actually "get stuck with". My droid has been a nightmare, esp the battery life. I can't wait to switch to an IPhone because of all of the troubles I have had with my droid. I would suggest looking into the pros and CONS of each phone, to really figure out which is best for you.

Just the opposite

It depends on the phone. The iphone 5 has a 1440 mAh battery while the galaxy s4 has a 2600mAh battery, so in theory the galaxy s4 can last twice as long as the iphone. But android has true multitasking while iphone does not and can only do one thing at one time. So in other words, it depends on the phone, and also that android/droid can do more things at once therefore draining the battery faster.
