My iPhone 4 is stuck at the apple logo screen?

So i tried updating my IPhone 4 today and i was using a wall outlet and then i had to plug it into my computer it said after i finished downloading the IOS6 update. So i got home and plugged it in then said failed to recover so i recovered then it went straight to the apple logo screen and its been like this for like 3 hours and i've tried resetting multiple times please help i don't need this stress right now the amount of homework and SAT prep i have is off the charts

You've gone ahead and bricked it. Hold the off button until it turns off. Wait 10 seconds and then hold the off button again. Slowly count to 10 and then hold down the main button while continuing to hold down the off button. Count to 5 and then release the off button while continuing to hold the other button. If I recall correctly, this is how you put it into recovery mode and then you can try to reset the iPhone through iTunes.
