My iPhone 4 won't support my iHome anymore?

I got my iHome a month after my phone and it worked absolutely perfectly for months. However, last Saturday, I went to the beach and my phone got submerged in the ocean water (just my luck) and everything was working except for the speakers. After a few hours, though, everything worked just fine. I could play music, make phone calls, whatever. That night, when I got home, I let my phone sit in a bowl of dry rice and the next day I put the blow dryer on cool and blew the sand out of the headphone and charger jacks and got the rest out with a make up brush. It worked fantastically after that, like nothing every happened. I put it on my iHome that night and ever since it won't play music, saying that it's not supported, but it will charge anyway. I can't contact Apple unless I pay either $30 or $70 for "support." So what should I do?
