My iPhone 4s battery dies INSANELY FAST?
My iPhone is a 2 year old hand me down from my brother.
The battery wasn't a big issue until now
I understand that there are probably many factors contributing to this
I'm stull deciding whether or not to reset and reload my phone or to just get a cheap battery change
Some of the problems:
from 60% to 30% under a matter of 2 seconds
100%, unplugged, minimal activity and it shuts off and doesn't start up until replugged
1% lasts long but charging takes almost 4 hours until it starts up again
On an iphone to save battery try setting the brightness down, this can really eat though your battery and what can also drain your battery is keeping your apps open, if you click the home button twice quite quickly (while the iphone is unlocked) you can delete your apps that are open.
Do both of these and the battery should be better

Let the battery fully drain. Don't let the screen power off and keep a bunch of programs on to drain the battery faster. Once it's fully drained and not even the battery sign pops out when you try to turn it on let it charge for a full 24 hours without it being disturbed etc. If that does not fix your problem do a factory reset and see if that fixes your problem. Maybe an app is causing the problem.
If you keep your devise plugged in even when its full it could drain your battery. Its as if the iPhone is now dependent on the charger.
Just replace it, it takes 5 minutes
