Yes, it can be unlocked
if it can be used anywhere depends if you are still under contract, and don't keep paying or pay a termination fee, the phone will be blacklisted and its illegal for any wireless company to allow a blacklisted phone on their network.
I don't know about using anywhere. But i know it can still be used if you unlock(jailbreak) the phone. I have a sprint iphone under 2 year contract i jailbroke it and i'm still using it now.
- Is there anywhere I can still buy the iPhone 5? I'm due for an upgrade with AT&T and currently have a regular iPhone 4. I don't want the 5c because it looks cheap to me and Id rather not pay the price for the 5s that is if they even still have some left. So is there anyway I can still get the iPhone 5 without just buying it from a stranger online?
- How to unlock Iphone 4s thats still under contract? I have an Iphone 4s and I called AT&T to request the unlock code but they would not give it to me because my phone is still under contract. I will be traveling abroad and I want to use the local SIM card in my Iphone, so is there any way I can legally unlock the phone without voiding the warranty?
- How to unlock an iphone 5 that's still under a contract? I'm going out of country in 2 days and I need to unlock my iphone. However their site says your phone must have fulfilled the contract. I've also heard people who are able to unlock their phones even under contract. So I'm planning on calling AT&T tomorrow. How is it that some people can unlock their phone under contract? I'm under a 2 year contract, but have had this iphone for over a year and a half.
- How to resell an iPhone 5s that is new and still under contract? Just received a new iPhone 5s from AT&T from the mail. Under contract, so it is locked. I see plenty of auctions on eBay selling this, so I believe this is doable, but I'm not sure how exactly. I've read about first activating the phone, then removing the sim card that it came with it, then reselling it. Can someone confirm that? Or please provide me a list of things to do? And a list of things to keep in mind?
