My iphone 4s speakers are broken?

I got my iphone 4s recently and i'm pretty sure there was no water spill or anything. When i try to play music it doesn't work and when i click the side buttons for the volume, the box comes up but not the bar.i've been researching this and people said to clean the speakers, charging port, and headphones. I did this several times and it worked the first time and it broke again. I used a toothbrush, credit card, toothpick, and a hair dryer. I tried every method but it fixes and then breaks again. It used to work when i plug in my headphones and now it works and breaks. Is there anything else i can do or should i go replace something?

Your problem can be either due to a software or hardware problem.

  • Would my iphone or speakers blow? During tech in school i made speakers which are very very loud. That to keep the volume stop from blasting my ears i have to leave it on half-full on the iphone. I connect the external speakers i made to my iphone and i was wondering because its so loud. If i play very loud music through it would my iphone blow out. I have a feeling that my speakers will as they are tiny but would my iphone get damaged because of it.
  • When apple replaces a broken iphone, do you get to keep the old broken one? The back camera on my iPhone 4s broke (just stopped working), so I called Apple and I have an appointment set up to replace the old phone with a brand new one. But, I want to know if when they give me the new phone, will they let me keep the old one? The phone still works fine except for the camera. In fact, it's almost perfect. And obviously I want to sell the old one on ebay to make a boat load.
