My iphone crashed while updating?

I just got a new iphone 5 and it was working perfectly when I got it. I went home today to update it, and while updating an error occurred. Now the iphone is stuck on the screen where it tells you to connect the iphone to itunes, but it doesn't appear on itunes. I tried reinstalling itunes and everything, but nothing seems to work.

You need to place your iphone in DFU mode (http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034) then donwload the version of ios that you want to install ( http://www.idownloadblog.com/iphone-downloads/) in your case is gonna be 6.1(cause apple is no sining any other). Then go to itunes and restore it with the one that you donwload

On Windows:
Hold the SHIFT key while clicking the "Restore" button in the iPhone tab in iTunes

On Mac:
Hold the option key while clicking the "Restore" button in the iPhone tab in iTunes

that should get your iphone from the loop.

Many apps now are optimised for iOS 9 and/or the 6th generation phones. Will my 5s' speed performance slow down if I update my apps? Will the app's performance slow down?

I've been wondering this, my GUESS is the person calling would just hear ringing until they're sent to voicemail, but that's just me GUESSING. Lol, some idiot on Apple's forums said if you call an iPhone while it's updating it could corrupt/brick the phone!
