My iphone needs to restore and I don't want all my music and apps deleted?
Okay so I was doing the software update for my iPhone and after about an hour it said the update had failed due to an unknown error. Next thing I know a window comes up on my itunes that says, "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." and that's my only option. If I restore it, I fear losing all of my apps and music that I paid for. Is there any way I can restore it without deleting all of my music and apps?
Hmm maybe it's better not to update lol
Download TinyUmbrella and use the " Exit from Recovery" option to just simply allow it to turn on and nothing will be deleted, and you should always backup your device to your computer!
Unfortunately, Joe's method is not going to help. When that error occurs during an update, your phone is truly stuck in recovery mode. At this point, all of your data is lost on the phone. You have to recover it or else your phone will be useless.
You can redownload anything you have purchased. Did you have iCloud turned on? Check! Go to icloud.com and log in with your Apple ID and password. Click on contacts. Are your contacts there? If so, there's nothing to worry about. When you sign back in on your phone after the restore, it will automatically put your contacts and apps back on. If not, unfortunately the data is lost. You can look in iTunes to see if you have a back up you can restore from or if you have synced your content to iTunes.
At this point, your phone is completely wiped already.

- IPhone music deleted when I deleted music usage, recovery? I was trying to get rid of the "other" data on my iPhone 5 so I tried deleted the music usage in settings>general>usage. But it deleted all my music! How do I get it back?
- IPhone 4S deleted all apps even apple apps? Last night my phone was freezing up so I turned it off and back on and when it restarted I had no messaging, phone, settings, iTunes, App Store, etc and I've turned it on and off and reset it several times. When I get a text I can see that I got it but when I click on it nothing happens I can't view the message.
- If I restore my iPhone I'll have to get iOS 8.4 I don't want it. But I need to restore my iphone? Okay if I restore my iPhone I'll get iOS 8.4 which I do not want. So if I restore it and iOS 8.4 is now on my phone, will I be able to downgrade to iOS 8.3? But I need accurate answers. Because if I don't this and I can't downgrade then it'll suck!
