My iPhone only works when on speakerphone?

Not sure exactly what happened, but all of a sudden a month or two ago people can't hear me when I'm trying to talk to them on the phone unless I put it on speaker phone. I've searched the web so this is a long shot, but any magical fixes out there! I've tried taking it to the Apple store and they are no help, I'm no longer under warranty or something like that.

Plug your ear phones into it several times then turn the phone on and off then try call.

I agree same thing happened to wife's phone and by putting ear jack in and out and powering the phone worked. Hope this fixed your problem.

OMG yes that totally fixed my microphone as well! Plug and unplug earphones several times, power off and power on. FIXED IT!

I have the same problem but my iphone 8 doesn't have any earphone jacks. Is there something I can do which mimics plugging in earphones?

Exact same problem. I don't have jack for earphones.

I can't here my calls very well it's low but volume completely up on iPhone 8. However when on speaker or earbuds it's fine

  • Youtube app only works on iPhone 4S when Wi-Fi is turned OFF? Can someone please explain this to me? It's usually the other way around for everything else on my phone but with this new Youtube app I can only watch videos using 3G. I checked to make sure it isn't a problem with my internet and it isn't. I really hope someone can help me with this because it uses up my data plan when I'd rather just use my Wi-Fi.
