My iPhone's iMessage isn't working properly

Hi! I'm having a real issue with my iPhone and iMessage. For a VERY long time, my mom and I have both owned and used iPhones, and, consequently, iMessage. Well, recently she betrayed Apple and switched to Android (gasp!). Well, since then, I can't send ANY texts to her! This is because my iPhone (4S) won't detect that it is an Android, and I have to manually send each iMessage text as a regular text message. It's a real nuisance, and I was wondering if there was any way to fix this?

I made sure her contact is no longer associated with "iPhone" contact and her number is listed as "Mobile" instead of "iPhone". And when THAT didn't work, I created a new contact completely, but it STILL recognizes her number as an iPhone number! Please help me if you can!

Added (1). My Mom currently has an HTC DROID DNA and I have an iPhone 4S.

I tex bombed my friends iPad and his message didn't work but he turned it off for a full 24 hours and it was fine if not take to store apple website help is not good

  • Why isn't my imessage working on my iphone 4 My imessage hasn't been working for about 5 days now. When i send a text to people who have i phones its sends as a text message. I even tried turning the imessage button one and off in the settings tab. I'm connected to a Wi-Fi as well. Can anyone help me imessage again?
  • Why isn't my iMessage working on my iPhone 5? It's fully updated as far as iOS goes. I was on my run today and literally it just stopped working out of nowhere. Looked online for troubleshooting but Apple doesn't help AND I don't wanna screw my phone up any worse (whatever is going on) by doing something to activate iMessage again. Anybody have a proven trick that may help me get this back on track? Much appreciated!
  • Skype call for my Iphone 4 isn't working properly? Whenever i call (voice call) or receive a call, we can talk for like 20-30 seconds then can hear nothing for 10 seconds then the call fails/drops… It has only been like this for like 2 days, it wasn't like this before. I don't know what's happening? How can i get it to work?
  • My iphone isn't working properly? My friend gave me her old Iphone and I knew things were wrong with it but how much would it cost to fix it? The buttons for the volume don't work, the mic doesn't work when I'm on a phone call but it works any other time and the lock button has been pushed in.
