My iPhone says I've used up 4.9 GB?

My iPhone 4 says I've used up 4.9 GB of storage and I only have 1.7 GB left. I don't get it, I have 1.4 GB of music, 312 MB of pictures (347 photos, 0 videos), 4.6 MB for Wattpad, 49.3 MB for BeFunky, 26.8 MB for PhotoGrid, 19.8 MB for Kik. I've deleted all my emails, recent calls, notes, text messages, and most of my contacts (I only have 57 now).Is 4.9 GB right? I don't think I've used that much. What else do I need to delete to make space?

Usually the apps themselves take take up the space in storage, not their contents. So, I don't think that deleting messages or emails would give you much more storage space. If you have any games that are pretty large (i.e. Angry Birds, Scribblenauts), you could delete those. Also, TV shows and movies take up a lot of space. If your videos app has a lot of content, then you should delete some of that.

Hope this helps, best of luck to you!

Usually when you first bought the iphone or any ios devices. The iphone itself have taken 2.1gb for the basic apps such as the safari and etc. So it means you have only 5.9 gb for your usage. Hope this helps.
