My iphone text bubble changed from green to blue? - 1
How did i do this? Is there a way to change it back or is it stuck as blue? Also can i change it to other colors?
It's always blue when sending to someone with an Apple device using iMessage, and green when sending to anyone else. You can't change the colors. Sounds like you had iMessage turned off before in your Settings.
You can't change the colors at your own will without jailbreak tweaks.
What this means is that either you or your contact you were texting also has an Apple device and both have iMessage registered with your numbers so the iPhone detected your friend also has iMessage and sent it over there instead of normal SMS. IMessage uses Wi-Fi or data for Internet messaging, not the normal gsm protocol meant for it. It's kind of like whatsapp, line, messenger but for iPhone, iPad, iPod and Macs
Blue means that your messages are being sent by iMessage, instead of being sent over the cell network. Green means they are going to the cell network (and you might be charged for them, depending on your cell plan). IMessage only works with iPhones, so texts sent to other iPhones will be blue, but texts sent to other people without iPhones will be green. You can't change the colors.
If the message is sent using iMessage then the bubble is blue.
If the message was sent using SMS then the bubble is green.
iMessage is normally used when texting to other iPhones and iPads.
You can turn off iMessage so all messages are in a green bubble by going to Settings--> Messages and turning the iMessage slider to OFF.
- Why would a text on my iPhone turn from blue to green? But what if you've been texting them and then all of a sudden your text sends a minute later and turns green? Do they still get the message if bubble turn blue to green?
- Why is my Iphone 3G texting bubble blue? I have a jailbroken iphone running on ios 4.2.1 and somehow my texting bubble is blue? Does that mean i'm using imessage or is that the old color for the iphone 3G? Imreally not sure and i would like to know because using imessage would be terrific!
- Why aren't my iMessages in a blue bubble? Usually when iMessaging/texting somebody else with an iPhone, your messages are in a blue bubble. I have a friend who also has an iPhone, but when I text her my messages aren't in blue. Is there a reason for that?
- When I send a message from my iphone it's green or blue? Hi. When I send a message to my friend an we both have iPhones it is blue speech bubbles but when I send it to a friend who doesn't have an iPhone it is green. Is there a way I can make the green bubble blue even though they don't have an iPhone?
