My iphone will not connect to my home Wi-Fi. It can connect to any other network with no problems

All my other devices at home connect with no problem, but once i updated my phone it won't connect here. I've reset the router, my network settings, forgot this network, even wiped out my phone and it still won't work. I changed the dns several times. Sometimes that works for a little while, but then eventually stops. What the hell?

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't connect to a Wi-Fi network

Get help connecting to Wi-Fi on your iOS device.

1. Make sure that your router is on and you're within range

If you're too far from your router, you can't get a signal, so make sure that you're within range.

2. Make sure that Wi-Fi is on and you can see your network

Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and make sure that Wi-Fi is on. Tap the name of your Wi-Fi network to join. A blue checkmark beside a network name means that you're connected. Get help if you can't turn on Wi-Fi.
If asked, enter your Wi-Fi password

3. If asked, enter the password for your Wi-Fi network. Get help if you don't know your password.

Even if you enter the correct password, you might see an "unable to join the network" message or an "incorrect password" message. Restart all of your devices, then try to enter your password again.

4. Check for issues with your Wi-Fi network

If iOS detects an issue with your Wi-Fi connection, you might see a Wi-Fi recommendation under the name of the Wi-Fi network that you're connected to. For example, you might see the alert "No Internet Connection." To get more information, tap the Wi-Fi network.

5. Check your cables and connections

If you still can't connect to your network or get online, make sure that your router is connected to the modem and turned on.

6.Restart

Try restarting your iOS device, router, and cable or DSL modem. To restart your router or modem, unplug it, then plug it back in.

After you restart each device, see if you fixed the issue.

Still can't connect?

Reset your Network Settings. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.

Some Wi-Fi devices have incompatibility issues with certain routers. This can vary from not detecting that the network even exists, through refusing to connect, to a slow connection or one that drops out randomly.

When you upgraded your phone, it probably got an updated Wi-Fi driver that has the problem with your router. Other devices still work with your router, and your phone works with other routers. These are common symptoms of this type of problem.

First, try changing the wireless channel that your router is using. Sometimes this will fix an issue, especially if there's another nearby network that is part of the problem.

If that does not work, then you will have to change the Wi-Fi source your phone connects to. This can be by adding a wireless access point to your network, or use a Wi-Fi range extender.

  • Why won't my iPhone connect to my home network? It's connected before today but my mom had people come in and fix it because when she would connect to it, the router messes up and no one was able to use the internet. Now I can use my desktop at the same time she uses her wireless connected laptop. But my iPhone won't join the network and neither will my other laptop.
  • Not receiving notifications or able to enter some apps on my iphone because network problems? Recently, i haven't been able to go into some apps due to network issues. At moments, I'm able to. I can go to safari and it can go slow or normally. I've taken the plug out of the router and placed it back in, turned off my Wi-Fi connection on the iphone. I don't know what do do… When i was connected to the Wi-Fi at my school, everything went normally--received notifications and was able to msg as normal.
  • One laptop can connect to our home Wi-Fi network but no other devices can connect? We recently set up a wireless internet connection in our house. One laptop can connect to it (the one I'm currently on) but no other devices can connect to it. It says our "Network Security Key" is mismatched. I have tried typing in all the different codes on both the router and modem on both our second laptop and an iPhone 5. How can I fix this?
