My laptop can't connect to my 5ghz Wi-Fi?
So i bought a router the linksys ea6300 and my laptop can't find the 5ghz network, however my iphone 5 can. I was looking around the internet and saw these wireless adapters. Lets say i buy a Wi-Fi adapter thats "ac" for my laptop would that work? Or any other ideas? I want my laptop to have fast internet like my iphone. My latop also supports the n network… Help!
Yeah, your laptops internal Wi-Fi can do only 2,4Ghz networks. Either you need to forward your 5Ghz signal to 2,4Ghz trough another router, or get special 5Ghz receiver for your laptop.
All you need to do it to change your Wi-Fi broadcasting channel. Open up your router's setup by entering the default gateway IP, enter username password if prompted ->go to Wi-Fi or Wireless Lan setting and make sure that broadcasting is b/g/n mixed mode, then check what broadcasting channel is selected starting from 1 to 11/13, in case of extreme start or end make in middle like 6 or 7 and in case of any middle number like 6 to 8 make it either 10 or 3. By changing the broadcasting channel shall hopefully stop any interference with other frequencies.

- One laptop can connect to our home Wi-Fi network but no other devices can connect? We recently set up a wireless internet connection in our house. One laptop can connect to it (the one I'm currently on) but no other devices can connect to it. It says our "Network Security Key" is mismatched. I have tried typing in all the different codes on both the router and modem on both our second laptop and an iPhone 5. How can I fix this?
- My Wi-Fi won't connect on my laptop but will connect to my other devices (an iPhone and iPad)? I have a MacBook Air. Sometimes it does connect but other times it just won't. It takes ages connecting and then in the end comes up with the exclamation mark or is just blank. Is this a problem with my laptop? I've tried researching the problem but have found nothing.
- IPhone can connect to Wi-Fi but not laptop? I use a wireless router to gain Wi-Fi on my iPhone and laptop. It's always worked just fine, but yesterday I noticed that my laptop would not connect my wireless network. I can see it on the list of networks available, but whenever I try to connect, it says it can't. But the same wireless network works just fine on my phone…
