My new iPhone 4S won't connect to the computer?

Pk so I just got my new iPhone today, and I was gonna charge it on the laptop, and tether it for Internet, but it won't connect. No error messages no nothing, won't charge, but the computer makes that sound when it reconizes a USB cable being plugged in. I updated my iTunes and it still didn't work, but my phone does charge using a wall charger please help, why won't it connect to the computer?

You've got two issues going on. First one is charging, which is normal. Not all USB ports have the specific power output required, especially laptops. Check out this page for a program designed by ASUS to overcome this issue: http://event.asus.com/mb/2010/ai_charger/

Second issue is not being recognised in iTunes. It should have the phone name on the left side on iTunes when the phone is connected. Sometimes you may need to reinstall the driver to get it working.

  • Why won't my brand new iPhone 5C won't connect to my home Wi-Fi? I just recently bought an iPhone 5C for my mom, along with an HTC One. The 4G LTE seems to work fine on both of them, but my iPhone can't seem to connect to my home internet (the HTC connected perfectly fine). I'm 100% sure I'm inputting the correct password, and it always comes up with the same error: "Unable to join the network '[my Wi-Fi name]'" I've tried turning the phone and router off and on, but it doesn't seem to be doing the trick…
  • My Wi-Fi won't connect on my laptop but will connect to my other devices (an iPhone and iPad)? I have a MacBook Air. Sometimes it does connect but other times it just won't. It takes ages connecting and then in the end comes up with the exclamation mark or is just blank. Is this a problem with my laptop? I've tried researching the problem but have found nothing.
  • My airpods won't connect to my iPhone but will connect to everything else I bought them from Apple and also my iPhone is from Apple (it's the 6 so it is about 4 years old). The thing is that my airpods connect to everything else. From one of the first iPad mini's to my macbook to an old iPhone 5S I have around my apartment to all of my parents and sisters Apple products, these airpods work fine. Then, the minute I attempt to connect it to my iPhone, they just don't work or if they do, they work for a couple of seconds and then stops.
