My new iphone's screen isn't smooth?
I got a iphone about 2 weeks ago, up until now the screen was nice and smooth but just today the screen has turned 'sticky' and there's alot of friction between my finger and the screen, i've tried wiping with a dry cloth and even a drop of water, any help?
All I can think of is maybe getting a screen protector. I have one on mine and it's really smooth.
It sounds as though you had a screen protector on the phone and it came off, or you had sticky fingers when you were using it. If you have it in a case, remove it from the case. Power it off. If you still have already have a screen protector on it, you may need to just peal it off and replace it with a new one, because it was probably installed backward… Even when installed sticky side up, a lot of the screen protectors will adhere to the phone, and feel slick at first, but get grungy and sticky feeling as you use it. If you neglected to remove the factory screen protector plastic, you need to do that, and replace it with a screen protector that is intended for users… The one from the factory isn't intended to last and be used by consumers.
If a screen protector isn't the problem. Take a thin wash-cloth and use your finger to dip some alcohol on the cloth. The iPhone screen is glass, so alcohol will not hurt it… Just don't get any around the edges of the glass or on the case. You don't need the wash-cloth to have very much alcohol on it. Gently massage your finger on the iPhone screen, everywhere that is sticky. You may need to move your finger to a different spot on the wash-cloth and dab a little more alcohol on the cloth… Do not pour the alcohol directly onto the phone. Anyway, you will notice all the gunk collecting on the wash-cloth… Just repeat until the phone screen is smooth and clean again. Set the phone down, and go wash your hands. Put the phone back in your case, or, if you have another one, put a new screen protector on it, and watch which side it shows is for the phone.
Before installing the new screen protector, clean the iPhone screen with the micro-cleaning cloth that came with it, or a micro cleaning cloth for eyeglasses… Those cloths are dust and lint free. Always use one before you put a new screen protector on to avoid a lot of fingerprints, dust and lint bubbles in addition to the air bubbles under them when you first put them on. Air will press out, but lint and dust bubbles never do.
Not trying to sound condescending at all, but the alcohol referred to by the above user is isopropyl Alcohol. You can purchase this from RS supplies. Just incase anyone had wondered or was thinking of putting Vodka on their phone.
- Why is Flappy Bird slow on iPhones but smooth on Android? I have a Galaxy S3 and my friend has an iPhone 5c. We both play Flappy Bird, but it seems so slow on his phone… My other friend has it on his iPhone 4S, and it still seems slow. It runs smoothly on my phone… My mum has an Xperia Z1 and it's smooth on her phone. What is it with the iPhone version?
- Smooth transitions on mixing console from ONE input? I'm stepping in last minute and DJing our school fashion show the only problem is the person who set up the music put everything into an iPhone playlist. I was wonder if there's any way to get a smooth transition from one input soure. I Have the ability to cue and fade if that means anything
