My snapchat won't let me record and send videos?

So I have an iPhone 4s, and I recently got the update in which you can send videos to friends. The problem is that my phone won't record a video. I know that you are supposed to press and hold the camera button, but whenever I do that, the screen just turns black and there's no video recorded. I can receive videos just fine, I'm just having problems taking the video. Also, I've tried deleting and then redownloading the app.

Press and hold blue snapchat button don't let go of the button! After 2 seconds of holding button down video should start recording and keep your finger on the button til you're done recording.

Once you start recording a rainbow shaped black thing should pop up notifying you that you are recording with a red thick line basically counting the time left down

The same thing was happening to me, but I just fixed it! You need to delete stuff on your phone then it'll work. I had to delete two aps and then it worked.
