Nail Polish Trick for Cracked iPhone Screen?
Today I cracked my iPhone 4 screen. The screen doesn't look shattered but it's cracked. There's a small crooked diamond shaped crack on the right of the screen. Then a few cracks are connected to that little diamond and spread across the screen. There aren't that many cracks. They're like very large puzzle pieces. I've heard of this clear nail polish trick where you put a coat of clear nail polish over the cracks and it'll be like brand new, but I wanted to be sure. My dad will kill me if he finds out. Should I tell him and face the screams and pounding of furniture and risk not having a phone at all, or use this nail polish trick?
Yes, this does the trick. You can also restore the iPhone from iTunes, that will fix any other software problem.
For physical button problems try this: turn the phone off and then put rubbing alcohol on a q-tip. Press the button down and swap the qtip all around the rim, sometimes you'll see grime and pocket lint type stuff stuck around the edges. A friend of mine does smartphone repair and he says most complaints about buttons not working are because some gunk has gotten behind them. To get it perfect again you'd have to take apart the phone which is too much work for most people.

- Spilled nail polish remover on my iPhone? - 1 I just got a iPhone 5 (shitty phone) but I spilled nail polish remover on it and it didn't touch the screen but it touched the back and you can see water marks when you turn on my phone. It's sitting in rice because that helps with water problems but will this kill my phone? How can I help it?
- Nail polish remover on my iPhone? I accidentally spilled nail polish remover on my iPhone 6s. At first nothing happened, but then I looked and there's a gray haze on the top part of the screen. Everything else works fine. I had it in rice for about a day and a half and now am using it. I called apple and have an appointment set up to have them see what they can do, but does anyone know if this will be just a screen repair or a full phone repair? Should I not use it until the appointment (2 days from now)?
