Need a reliable phone?

I have an apple iphone 6 right now, and to be frank I strongly dislike how the "updates" slow my phone down… Pretty pathetic. I need a phone thats reliable, has good battery life, and features such as a removable sim card and battery, as well as good build quality (maybe even water resistant I don't know). I don't know why phones are so damn difficult to make well, but I'm tired of my phone being a little *****. Are google phones good? Like the pixel?

I don't want stuff like snapchat and instagram, just spotify and GPS. Thats all I need. Please help me!
Thank you kind people.

The Pixel by Google (which replaced their previous Nexus line) is actually very well-rated. The Pixel 1 has been discontinued for the brand-new Pixel 2, which competes directly with the iPhone, and the Samsung Galaxy lines. It IS still 'premium priced'… You probably can't get a new one for less than $500-$600. But it has lots of storage, access to Google Photos, Music/Play… Comparable to a lot of what the App Store offers. (Though the App Store is more secure, in general.) Android phones are great if you want reasonable battery life, expandable storage, and options to customize your device.

You may also check out Nokia's new line of smartphones: particularly the 3.1 and 6.1, which I have my eye on. Both can be bought outright for less than $300 (actually using the service plan costs extra) and seem to be well-rated and durable, with fair capacities.

Androids are not quite as user-friendly in terms of interface, but there are all kinds of online guides, and tools to help you 'transition' to Android from an Apple device. (I've researched this, as I'm pretty sure my next phone will be an Android… Unless the iPhone SE comes down about $100 in price over the next year.)

Hope this helps.

You are not going to find a phone that is both water resistant and has a removable battery. In reality, you don't really need a removable battery, it is better to just get and external battery for charging.

There are many phones out there that will do the trick for you though. I would lean towards Android phones, which offer more than the iPhone for the money. Some people still believe that Apple is easier to use, but I have not found that to be the case, and quite the opposite. I look for certain ways of navigating in IOS and they are not intuitive, but of course that is a personal preference and if you have been using IOS you probably have a different perspective.
