Network Connection Keeps Timing Out on iTunes?
I'm trying to update my phone through itunes since my phone is having issues… But i keep getting an error "There was a problem downloading the software. The network connection has timed out". Help!
The reason I'm trying to update is so that my Wi-Fi screen hopefully won't be greyed out on my iphone.
The network timeout has to be fixed with your computer and network. Disable power saver settings while you are updating.
Close all windows after you download and before you start the update.
I'm guessing you have the iPhone 4s.
How did I know?
The 4s has a hardware defect which is triggered by the iOS 7 update. I don't know how many phones are effected, but it only seems to be the 4s and not all 4s are effected. Apple community discussion link below. There are a few home fixes that have at least some success. If your phone if still under warranty, get a repair or replacement that is not a used 4s iPhone. Complain repeatedly until you get results if your phone is out of warranty.
