New Iphone 4S, won't turn on?

I just got my new iPhone 4S in the mail, and when I went to turn it on, nothing happened. I plugged it in to the charger and have tried a couple times but still nothing. The screen doesn't even light up. What do I do? Should I just let it charge longer?

Charge the device longer, if it don't help try pressing both the Home button & Sleep/Wake button at the same time.

Now every time i try to turn it on or plug it into itunes it randomly switches off and comes up with the apple logo again! So frustrating! Any solutions?
