New iPhone 5, 3 iMessage problems?

Ok lol I've never had an iphone so bear with me xD

I used my iPod touch 4 to text people because my old phone had horrible service, but iMessage seemed to get texts 5-30 minutes late SOMETIMES usually 2-5 mins 40% of the time.
The same problem is happening with my iPhone, the iMessage is coming late, and sometimes my iPod will get it before my iPhone, and vise versa? :/ I wanted a new phone because my old phone was always getting texts late but this is the same

ALSO my iMessage is still working, but when I go in settings it says "Waiting for Activiation", it didn't say this earlier but when I went to my "Send and Receive" and my "Apple ID" I changed my old home number that was on there to my new number and now it says waiting for activation, yet it still works.

AND the "You can be reached by iMessage at" only has the option of my email, it has NO option for a number, yet when people put my number in it still works LOL I'm so confused

No, you can't use iMessage without activating your apple id.

  • Problems with iphone imessage? My brother and I both have iphones. He has iphone 4 and I have iphone 4s. We have the same apple ID (he uses mine). After I upgraded to IOS 7, whenever someone sends me a message through imessage, I get it through my phone but my brother also gets the same messages. I logged off my apple ID on his phone but he still receives the same messages I receive from people. I think both of our phones were synced together? Is there a way to disconnect this?
  • On IPhone 4s Imessage problems? On my IPhone it says delivered and read but it only works for some people I text:/ Is this normal? Can I change it so that it happens for all people I text?
  • IPhone problems with imessage? Ok so me and my sister both have iphone 4's. We're also on the same line. Recently, i don't know why, she receives every imessage i send out and receive from different people. I don't receive any of te imessages she sends out or receives from different people. Why is this?
  • IPhone can't send iMessage to iPod touch user with iMessage? At random times, whenever I try to iMessage my friend who has just a iPod Touch, where you type in the message will say "Text Message" instead of "iMessage." is there a way to fix this so it will always send as a iMessage instead of Text?
