New iPhone upgrade problems?

I used to have a Blackberry Bold 9900. I had this on a contract for 2 years since October 2011. I had a call from where I originally bought the phone saying that I had a few days/weeks left of my contract and if I would be interested in an upgrade. I said "Yes" to the upgrade and got an iPhone 4s. It came in the post today and I put the new sim card I received inside the phone and turned it on. I went through the instructions about the language and location and everything else. Got onto the main phone and the connection came up with Orange T Mobile which is who I'm connected with. It also gave me the option of having my Wi-Fi on. I only ever use the Wi-Fi when I'm near to it, otherwise I just use 3G because it is easier. This is what I used to do on my Blackberry anyway. I tried to go on to Safari to go onto facebook and it came up with. "Safari can't be opened as there's no internet connection". I was really confused. Is there no internet connection because there's something wrong with the phone? Or do I need to wait for my broadband providers to allow the contract to proceed. I read online it can take up to 24 hours for a contract to be verified or something… But I'm not quite sure…

Would be good if I could have some guidance.

If you have not physically signed a new contract then it is very possible that you plan is not actually renewed… However I doubt that they would send you a new upgrade phone (which by the way is 2 years old now so not much of an upgrade… Why didn't you just pay $99 for the 5?) when you haven't actually renewed it. It is probably just your service taking a little while to kick in. I would call tmobile and ask them about the status of your plan.

SERIOUSLY… The 4s? Phones have come a long way since then and if I were you I would seriously consider plunking down some money for a better phone… The 5, the 5s has just been announced, LG G2… Galaxy Note 3. I mean tons of phones just came out… BUT i'm not judging I'm just saying its what I would do.

Hope this helped.
