O2 Tesco UK: which carrier my iphone5 is exactly locked to? O2 UK or Tesco Mobile?

I checked the IMEI of my iphone and found its network is O2 Tesco UK. I want to get my iphone unlatch but don't know which carrier my iphone is locked to. I sent an email to O2 for iphone unlatching request and they replied "I'm sorry, we have not been able to unlatch your iPhone at this time. The reason given is: The IMEI xxx has not been used on our network, so it will not be possible to unlatch it." What should I do?

If you bought it from Tesco, it's locked to Tesoc, if you bought it from anywhere else it's O2

Tesco is a separate Network Company
and they unlock their own phones locked to their network.

if the IMEI says "O2 Tesco" that is a little misleading, it is actually TESCO (only).

Yes, they 'use' th O2 network but they are not O2.
They are no moere O2 than any other network.

eg ASDA, IKEA, VIRGIN etc all use another network but you go to them to get their phones unlocked - same with TESCO.

SO yes, a little extra knowledge can be a dangerous and misleading thing.
