On my iPhone 5, Geekbench says it a CDMA model?
I got an iPhone 5 in Australia, it is running on Telstra's 4G network. I got the Geekbench app on my iPhone 5. And it says it's a CDMA model. I thought it was meant to be GSM, because every other iPhone I have had was GSM. Also on Apple's website (http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/) it says that Australia is GSM, so why is my iPhone CDMA?
Because your iPhone model is the A1429 model, which is a full world phone meaning that it has support for GSM and CDMA on certain frequency bands (there's another model that has different bands for other countries, Apple wanted to reach s many countries as possible). Your iPhone is capable of both CDMA and GSM, Geekbench won't list both however.
- Will the iPhone 4S digitizer fit an iPhone 4 CDMA? I made a bit of a mistake after I was given a broken iPhone 4 CDMA and I purchased an iPhone 4S digitizer. Can I modify the 4S digitizer to work properly in my iphone 4 CDMA? I've heard that the ribbons are exactly the same from several different sources. Can you link me with something that says otherwise?
- When getting a replacement iPhone do apple give you the same model or a newer model? I have an iPhone 5 and on Tuesday I'm getting a replacement because of the battery. Would the "geniuses" give me a newer model (like the iPhone 5c or IPhone 5s) or the same model.
