Otterbox or lifeproof for iphone 5?
I'm going to be buying the iphone 5 and want to make sure that I have a stylish, sleek case for it that will protect it from the elements. I know that the Lifeproof case is supposed to protect against all the elements, but some people have said that water still gets in an ruines the phone completely. That being said, the otter boxes for the iphone 5 don't protect against water at all. I'm not going to be throwing it in the water, but with the occasional drop in water, I would like my phone to be protected. I also want the case to protect my phone against any drops. It's my first iphone, and I don't want my accidental drops to make it my last. So… Any tips or suggestions? Is there a case out there that will fit my needs that I'm not currently looking at?
I have an otter box, and it's awesome. So, yup.
The otterbox don't really protect from water but it's a very durable case i have own a iphone since the 1st one now i'm going to get the iphone 5. I would recommend you to purchase a otterbox if can afford it because the cost is like $49 dollars. But its worth the money if you drop it. I have protect my phone with a otterbox from day one when i take the phone out the case it looks brand new no flaws of scratches.
My iPhone 4 has been "Lifeproofed" for a year now. My case is scratched, scuffed, marked, stained, and gashed… But the phone inside is in the same condition it was when I bought it. The phone is pristine. I've taken my phone into swimming pools, into the ocean, left it buried in sand… I've spilled beer, water, soda, chocolate syrup, etc. On it… I"ve dropped it from 6+ feet dozens of times. It still holds up. The one time I actually tore my case after dropping it, Lifeproof replaced it within a week… For free. Not only is LP a great case, it's a great company.
I'll say again… I've DELIBERATELY taken my phone into the ocean, and into pools, and have seen zero damage. I've dropped it DOZENS of times, and it's never been damaged.
As an added bonus, the LP case is not as bulky as the otterbox. But that's moot… Cause if I'm not mistaken, Otterbox's standard cases are not waterproof. You can buy a waterproof Otterbox, but it's more of a carrier than a case.
My advice… Sign up for the LP iPhone 5 case availability notification. That way you get notified when LP has come out with a case for the phone. You can pre-order the Otterbox, but keep in mind that it is NOT waterproof. It says so in the fine print.
It's not waterproof, but Speck is good also and there's a message on their website that they're working on a case for the iPhone 5. I love my speck candy shell case, it doesn't make the phone bulky but protects it well and looks nice.https://www.speckproducts.com/?pcrid=12088518674&pmt=e&mkwid=s6QRdxbtP&keyword=speck
- Which is better Otterbox or Lifeproof for IPhone 4s? I'm getting an IPhone for Christmas, and I'm trying to choose a case for it… So which is better?
- Which iphone case is better? Lifeproof OR otterbox armor? I want it to be water proof, drop/crush proof, dust, and cold/snow. I really want it to be thin-ish and water proof. ALSO which one can go deeper in water and take a longer fall
- What case should I get for the iPhone 5? Lifeproof or Otterbox Armor? I'm not concerned about price, which one do you like better? I know the Lifeproof case is thinner, but the Otterbox seems more durable.
- Should I get an otterbox commuter or a lifeproof for my iphone 6? I'm debating between to two. I don't want a lot of extra bulk added to my phone. I have had both cases I just don't know which one to get. The lifeproof case is around $70, compared to the otterbox commuter which is around $30-35.
